The Convergence of College Basketball, Country Music Stars, and SAS

0

Take your pick. The NCAA men’s final championship game, the Academy of Country Music Awards, and SAS Global Forum 2011 all sweep in early next week—representing the pinnacle of their respective organizations. Rather than stay on the sidelines, I’m sure that many of you will actively participate in some of these events. Whether viewing on your television, following the action online, or actually taking it to the next level and attending the events.

I will not be attending the NCAA tournament next Monday evening (unlike a few members of my team) or the Country Music Awards on Sunday. However, I will be on the road in Las Vegas attending my fifth SAS Global Forum (and just maybe spotting a few wayward country music stars).

This year, I’ll demo the Social Media sites of SAS Publishing and SAS Training to as many of the 3500+ attendees as I can. I look forward to helping users connect with us and SAS authors online, as well as making new connections and hanging out with seasoned friends. Besides covering the social media station, I’m upping my game and presenting my first “ignite” session. A high energy 5-10 minute rapid-fire presentation of social media recommendations. Hopefully, I won’t commit too many turnovers.

Okay, enough with the weak basketball puns. I’ll end this post and return later in the week to provide some full-court pressure on why you should visit SAS Publishing at the conference.

Visit the SAS Global Forum home page to read everything taking place at the conference in Las Vegas next week. If you can’t make it there in person, you can follow the Twitter hashtag #sasgf11 and this blog for updates.
